As
we only booked one night in our hostel we had to be up and out by
noon. This wasn't too much of a problem as we were able to leave our
rucksacks at the hostel which meant we just had to find something to
fill our day. We spent a few hours finding somewhere to stay in Koh
Tao and then we went to our go to restaurant in Bangkok. It's not the
best place but it's easy to find and we've had some good meals there!
The
rest of the day was spent wandering around and killing time. We hit
up an internet cafe a few times and even spent a few hours in
Starbucks with the trendy Apple users. We were given a coupon for a
free burger at Burger King so that sorted out dinner but my favourite
activity of the day was our massage! Despite being taken off the main
street to a tiny room where we were told to take our tops off, the
massage went really well and my back and shoulders were feeling
pretty good, and all for the bargain price of £3!
Our
sleeper bus from Bangkok to Chumphorn where we get a connecting ferry
to the island of Koh Tao left at 9pm so we checked in and were on our
way. I'm not one for sleeping on buses but this overnight bus was
pretty flash. Our seats reclined, we had foot rests and they even
threw in a few blankets! It wasn't the best sleep I've ever had but
if this is what it takes to get to some sunny Thai islands, I'll
tough it out!
