Free Food!

20/08/13

The day of our mock class arrived and passed quite uneventfully. It’s hard teaching a class of adults as if they were children – hopefully it’ll be easier in real life! We managed to get away from training quite early and after setting up the wifi we headed to Wanda Plaza for an early dinner. In an attempt to try another new restaurant we went to Spice Spirit, not really sure what to expect, but here’s a clue – there’s a big hint in the name!

We decided to give fried rooster and steamed bullfrog legs a miss so we went for good old beef. There were five chillies beside the dish but a little heat never hurt anyone... Turns out that five chillies means the dish is really, really spicy. We managed to avoid most of the chillies but there were some watery eyes and desperate gulps of sprite. One of the workers spoke English and came over with a massive plate of fruit, which she said was for us and for FREEEEEE! It’s probably not that exciting but I thought it was definitely worth a mention because everyone likes free stuff and it’s the first free thing we’ve got in China!
